I just bought the BT2S-Slave unit from you.
I have wired it to Arduino 5V & GND, and pins 0 & 1 as shown in the enclosed guide.
When powered up I get the expected fast-blinking LED on the unit.
Problem: it’s not appearing in any Bluetooth pairing app, either on my Mac (Bluetooth setup) or iPhone (Settings or nBlueTerm App). It’s not being “seen” !
Suggestions? Possible bad unit?
Frustrated in SC,
I am so sorry you are having trouble with your Virtuabotix BT2S Slave. The device should show up on the Mac without issue, but the iPhone does not allow pairing with actual serial devices (devices that simulate serial on the iPhone/iPad so far have used the audio protocol to transmit data through different tones in a similar way to dial up modems).
You may want to shunt the key and vcc pins to try to reset the unit and see if the device shows up as linvor, or HC106 on your Mac. If any device shows up and disappears corresponding to the addition/removal of power then it is probably the BT2S. Once you get that far you should be able to pair with the default code of 1234.
Sometimes problems occur when there is not sufficient power applied to the device, so you may want to make sure you are on 5 Volt input and that it doesn’t work differently when on wall power vs. USB or battery.
If you are still having any trouble whatsoever once you have done those steps to try to get your device paired please do not hesitate to submit a support ticket or email me so that I can help you debug further or get a replacement en-route.

I am having a similar issue and I have taken your corrective measures. I bought this device expecting it to work with my iPhone and my Samsung Andriod Tablet. What are the steps to make this work? If it is not possible, then your ad needs to be modified to say just that.
