What is a Keplerian Telescope?
It is an optical telescope, which means that it gathers and focuses light mainly from the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum
Invented by Johannes Kepler in 1611, his design was an improvement on Galileo’s Galilean Telescope, which he invented in 1609.
Instead of using a concave lens, it uses a convex lens as the eyepiece to make the rays of light emerging from the eyepiece to converge.
This allows for a much greater eye relief. (the distance from the last surface of an eyepiece at which the user’s eye can obtain the full viewing angle) Though the image that appears for the viewer is upside down, much higher magnifications can be reached with this design in more complex variations of this telescope.
